Cooley Gallery Wins a Ford Family Foundation Facilities Grant

’s prints and drawings collection currently resides in a room created in 1989 during the Hauser Library renovation, which included the construction of the Cooley Gallery. The grant will assist in replacing non-toxic wooden shelving with metal flat files, furniture, and upright bin-racks. This, in turn, will allow for careful handling of the objects in the collection by visitors.

The renovation will coincide with the anticipated completion of a digital inventory of the gallery’s works, created using museum-standard management software. Combining the digital search capability with the new more user-friendly storage will bring vitality to the collection for all those who interact with it.
